Japan’s “Godfather of Drift” Daijiro Inada shows off his 450hp Nissan 180SX Dee’s Club Stream Z GT-Jr and tells us why Federal Tyres are the only tyres he recommends:
Daijiro Inada, the “Godfather of Drift”, is an icon of Japanese automotive culture. The man behind Option Magazine and the World’s largest automotive event, the Tokyo Auto Salon. It was Inada’s vision to take drifting from the streets to the track to create the World’s top professional drift competition, the D1 Grand Prix series.
With over 20 years experience writing, driving and promoting modified Japanese cars and drifting, Inada has driven on many tyres but only recommends one – Federal Tyres.
When Federal Tyres announced Inada would be at the launch of their new 595EVO tyre in the United States, Federal Tyres Australia’s Brett Quodling asked the “Godfather of Drift” why he recommends Federal Tyres, not only for drifting but for everyday use:
“There are a lot of competitive brands of good quality and a lot of price conscious ones as well. Federal Tyres are the only one with the best balance of good traction, high durability and, most importantly, affordable price.”
Daijiro Inada’s advice for choosing Federal street/track tyres
595 “The Federal 595 is now the most preferred street tyre in Japan. It has good traction but its durability is the 595’s strong point. It really endures in high powered driving.”
595EVO “595EVO is new upgraded all-round tyre with superb traction but still with Federal’s durability.”
595RS-R “Federal’s 595RS-R specialty competition tyre proved to be one of the most competitive tyres in the Japanese D1 Grand Prix series and has become the professional’s choice. It is a great improvement on the old version (595RS) with its reinforced carcass and sidewall.”
